I haven't blogged because I've been up to my eyeballs in house fixing-up. It was never ending, frustrating, and absolutely overwhelming. I spent the majority of last Wednesday in constant tears, thinking of what I needed to get done to get our house on the market by Thursday.

Thankfully, our parents stepped up in a BIG way and came to the rescue and it was all done by 7:30 that evening. I sent our realtor pictures to let him know it was as ready as it could be and to put it up the next morning. I wanted it on the market before I went to Knoxville so I could get it clean and it'd stay that way for showings on the weekend without me having to do it again and again. Clever, right? ;-)

I left early Friday morning to go to Knoxville for Mother's Day. Our realtor, Jeff, called and told us that there were 3 showings for the day. While Reuben was napping, Clint said we needed to start looking for a town house in Knoxville since I'd be there soon. I told him we should wait because I didn't want to find something so soon when the house wouldn't sell for a while.

He said "I've been praying God would sell the house this week. He's going to do it."

I agreed to go look at a couple of places, fell in love with one, and as we were driving home from seeing it, got a phone call from Jeff...

You guys...

OUR HOUSE IS SOLD!!!

Seriously. In three days. I can't even believe it. I'll be in Knoxville permanently on June 1st. I can't even stand it, I'm so excited!!! 

 

five on friday

First off, if you didn't read yesterday's post, go ahead and check that out. It's a pretty big deal! We're so thankful for all the support and prayers during this transitional time.

Now, let's get down to business.

[ONE]
baby babbles

Reuben's getting to the age where he's babbling all.of.the.time. Most of it is intelligible, but I'm also starting to understand pieces here and there. This week, he's started saying outside... but in baby language, it's "ow dah!". The kid is obsessed with the chickens at my parents farm and ALWAYS wants "ow dah".

Muppets Most Wanted

The Muppets Movie from 2011 is one of our family's favorite movies. It's incredibly clever with some really catchy music. Knowing that we'll be 3 hours apart in a month, Clint and I are trying to squeeze in as much quality time together as possible so we decided to go on a last minute date after Reuben's bedtime tonight and Muppets Most Wanted seemed like the perfect idea.

I have to be honest, I was a wee bit disappointed. It was funny...ish. I didn't love the storyline and the songs weren't nearly as catchy. It was cute and I don't regret seeing it, but it definitely lived up to the general rule of sequels not being as good as the original.

bathtub woes

Our house was a foreclosure and it's come with plenty of issues, one of which is our bathtub. There have been these stains that I absolutely cannot get out. I found a concoction of vinegar, borax, and dawn dish soap on pinterest that I was convinced would work. So much so, that I even took before pictures to put on here before the after photos I'd get. Here's one:

Ok, so that's the same picture, but seriously. NOTHING CHANGED. UGH. So now we're thinking we're going to have to just get the bathtub refinished. I've tried everything I can think of and none of it is working. That being said, has anybody ever gotten a new bathtub liner? Looking for some hope, here.

teething tongue

Reuben's got some molars breaking through his gums and he's decided sticking his tongue out makes him feel better. It's out 99.9% of the day and it's so dang adorable.

Oh, please excuse the massive pile of clothes in the background. Our friends gave us three boys worth of handmedowns so I was in the process of organizing them. Our house isn't always that messy ;-)

[FIVE]
the first of the lasts

Wednesday was Clint's last regular Wednesday night in the student ministry and the night they told all the students we were leaving. It was definitely bittersweet and there were plenty of tears from the both of us. It's really surreal that we're actually leaving and that was the first thing that made it sort of start sinking in. I'm just so proud of Clint and how God's used him in the student ministry. I'm excited to see what's next, but it'll be hard to leave this behind.

fourteen months later...

Clint was away all weekend, so I decided it would be perfect timing to finish painting our room and get something up on the wall behind it.

Clint is absolutely adamant we'll never have a legitimate headboard because he hates when pillows fall between the crack of the mattress and the headboard, so we've been living with our bed against the wall for all 3 years of our marriage. Not exactly the homiest way to live.

So, like I said last Friday, we'd been living with an absolute horribly half-painted room for 14 months. It wasn't even like we had clean lines where we'd decided to end. We just quit mid paint job.

My mom came and helped me move the massive bed and clean the walls up to paint and my dad helped me move it back the next day after everything had dried. Teamwork makes the dream work.

I painted after Reuben went to bed for the night. Praise the Lord for 6:15 bedtime! It only took a couple hours and it honestly flew by thanks to trusty Law and Order: SVU.

Once it was dried and the bed was moved back, it was time to clean, organize, and decorate. I had big plans of doing a really cool display behind the bed, but I ran out of time/energy, so some twine, tape, photos, and old book pages did the trick just fine. I'm sure I'll update it to something a little more to scale with a king sized bed eventually...

ZOO TIME

The Nashville zoo is easily one of my favorite places to go. I've missed it over the winter months. It's definitely less appealing to when it's below freezing outside. I can't imagine the animals are very fun to watch then, either. Thankfully, the weather is finally starting to warm up around here so my friend, Whitney, and I are venturing out there with our babes today.

SPRING TV

So many of my favorites are coming back on this week. I can hardly keep up! Thank goodness we've got DVR... for now. The end of March will be a sad day in the Lamberth home when we cancel our cable.

[THREE]
SLEEP

Little man has been sleeping through the night consistently for weeks (besides the night of his birthday party, but the amount of sugar he ate would keep me up too!). It took a little while, but I finally feel like a new woman. It's amazing what normal, uninterrupted sleep will do for a person!

And yes, I'm totally the mom that sneaks in her kid's room at night and watches him sleep. Creepy? yes. Do I care? Absolutely not.

IPSY*

I read about ipsy in a mom group on facebook and totally didn't believe it would be worth much, but figured it was worth $10 to give it a shot.

Well, I'm 5 months into it an LOVING it. Every month I get a package in the mail with a cute make-up bag with 4-6 items chosen for me by a stylist based off a quiz I took when I signed up. They've all been spot on. I've gotten a ton of nail polish, lip color, eye liner, eye shadow, and other random make up and skin care products. I would've never been able to buy everything I get in a month for less than $10. And the little bags you get have made it so much easier to keep all of my make up and small toiletries organized. Check it out!

BEDROOM MAKEOVER

Our bedroom is in desperate need of some help. Like, in a major way. We started painting it when I was 7.5 mo pregnant and when we got to the wall behind our king sized bed, we "took a break" until a friend could help Clint move the bohemoth of a bed since I couldn't lift anything that heavy. Well, our break hasn't ended yet.

And it's awful looking.

The mirror that's supposed to be over our dresser is in the hallway where it's been for the 2.5 years we've lived in the house. The fan blades have a horrible paint job going on on the ends of them thanks to a previous owner and are now covered in dust thanks to our nightly use of it. Gah. I hate even admitting all this. The shame...

So. I'm getting sick and tired of it and I've got some big plans in my head for what I want it to look like sooner rather than later.
